Paulownia Shutters

Paulownia Shutters

PAULOWNIA is a great choice for internal shutters, it is a similar timber to the classic Western Red Cedar. Not only does it convey luxury and opulence, the lightweight, straight grained timber has the stability for large shutter panels. Superior insulating properties reduces heating & cooling costs with a natural resistance to moisture, decay and insect damage, and it’s an eco friendly option.

A variety of finishes are available for paulownia shutters: painted, washed or stained to highlight the characteristic timber grain. Colour tone variations will occur as with any natural timber product. Fixing options include fixed panels, direct hinged, framed, tracks, sliding and bi-fold right through to bay windows.

Blades are available in the elliptical style with sizes of 63mm or 89mm. Panel widths are dependent on the choice of blade size and fixing and can reach up to 1950mm.

Due to Covid-19 issues the cost of Western Red Cedar has significantly increased so it could be worth considering Paulownia as an option.
